Group Task:  Your teacher will divide you into groups of three or four. You must explore all of the websites and decide as a group which topic your team would like to present to the Electrinoites. Choose from the topics listed below:

  1. What is electricity? Click here to watch a movie about electricity. And here.
  2. What is static electricity? Try an experiment on static electricity.
  3. What is a circuit?
        Try building one.
  4. How can you use electricity safely?
    1. Safety Haunted House
    2. Lightning
    3. Kite and Lightning Rod Experiment

Now that you have picked your question, you can start gathering information and graphics or pictures. Your group must design some type of oral presentation, using the computer or other visual aids, to show the class and the Electrinos from Electrinoites what you have learned.

You may use any resources available to you, such as books, encyclopedias, classroom materials or websites.  Good Luck!

Individual Report:
Now it is time for you to have some fun learning more about the pioneers of electricity.  Choose one of the following pioneers to research on your own.  Then, prepare a two-page written report on the contributions one of the following individuals made. You must use three sources and prepare a bibliography.

  • Benjamin Franklin
  • Thomas Edison
  • Dr. Robert J. Van de Graaff
  • Leon Theremin
  • Lewis Howard Latimer

Use Yahooligans or Ask Jeeves to conduct your research.
